Use it for Desktop Offline Scenario

what do you think about using this application as offline scenario for Desktop application with SQL compact. Can I just convert your mobile sample, and it should be working?

Hi freeze,

SyncComm.Proxy is intended to be used for just mobile environment. Instead of this project try to creating your own proxy through Web Service reference via Visual Studio. It should work, I guess. Please, if you try it out let me know about. After realease 0.95 I will try to create specific SyncComm.Proxy for desktop applications.

Thank you,,

thanks for very fast reply, I will see if it usable.

at least I can try to build such proxy, I just never did it before. but I need to build robust system for my application. It should include offline scenarios and p2p or client server Sync within LAN, if you had any examples of this let me know. see brief on bottom, let me know if you can see that Sync Framework is a right choice. I used somethng called Astoria Offline, but it's on very initial stage, so it doesnt support SQL CE as client framework, but communication between SQL Express versions is great.

1)    Main server will contain WCF service and database: WCF service will use MS Sync Framework to sync data in SQL Server 2008 database.

2)    Local Server, will be downloadable application (touch + server part + SQL Compact). That will track WCF service for changes, meantime it will work locally fine with own clients LAN: WPF TOUCH Applications. (Issue is LAN communication; will be done via .net 3.5 Peer2Peer framework + need to write custom Sync Provider by sync framework).

3)    Upload client: WPF application + SQL Compact or MS Access, can work with WCF service or via LAN with its Local Server to upload cached information to the server or edit current and upload also. Supplied on a flash card. Communication via LAN also via P2P channel and Sync Framework
